Eight Zombie Books To Munch On

Are you sick of vampires and werewolves, but still craving paranormal fiction? You're not the only one. I have one word for you: zombies. "Zombies?" I hear you thinking. "But zombies are almost as overdone as vampires. What could possibly be less fresh than zombies?" (pun intended)
Don't scoff just yet. I actually agree with you. We are suffering from an excess of paranormal stories, zombies included. Despite that, there is a drought of good, well written ones. Of course, tastes do differ and you may disagree on my assessment of these stories. But if you are left feeling stiff and cold from the other zombie tales you have been reading (okay, I'll stop with the puns) then give these a try. What do you have to lose? No matter what, you'll finish them with a little bit more knowledge in case of a zombie apocalypse, and that could be the difference between life or undeath.

These books would be a good choice for both adults and young adults.
THE REAPERS ARE THE ANGELS by ALDEN BELL
Southern gothic meets zombies. This is not a feel good book. It is an allegorical tale about a young girl wandering a barren wasteland filled with zombies, trying to survive.
WARM BODIES by ISAAC MARION
Unlike the first suggestion, this IS a feel good book. Zombies plus romance? You might be wondering how that could ever work. Believe it or not, it does! The movie based on this book is out now – but remember, the book is always better.
WORLD WAR Z and THE ZOMBIE SURVIVAL GUIDE by MAX BROOKS
What if there was an actual zombie apocalypse? How would humanity handle it? Max Brooks writes very realistic books on how to handle the undead. The movie is coming out this summer. Read the book before you watch it!
THE WALKING DEAD: RISE OF THE GOVERNOR and THE WALKING DEAD: ROAD TO WOODBURY by ROBERT KIRKMAN AND JAY BONASINGA
Are you a fan of the TV show? If so, you NEED to read these books. You find out how the Governor came into power. Avoid spoilers, the ending will surprise you!
THE WALKING DEAD COMPENDIUM ONE and THE WALKING DEAD COMPENDIUM TWO by ROBERT KIRKMAN
Another must read for fans of the TV series! These graphic novels are what started it all. Do you want to avoid having to buy each issue of the comic separately? We have both compendiums in our collection already!
Have you read any of these books? What did you think? Feel free to comment and give us your other recommendations, too!
